Hemodynamically guided varicose vein sclerotherapy

Simpler cases can be treated without surgical procedure through injection or laser at the vein responsible for the problem. Patients without a large number of dilated veins, with little saphenous involvement or with previous operations may benefit.

The procedure consists of complete duplex examination to define from where comes the flow that is overloading the veins. Then, a direct injection into the vein is performed. Many times the elimination of the hemodynamic source of the blood already wilts good part of the veins.

In cases in which the veins do not wilt enough for cosmetic result, we can do laser and sclerotherapy to obtain good results.

Unfortunately, some cases may not respond well to the injection and need surgery later.
